About English for Global Business
Experience in Business, Teaching, and Online Learning
I’m Tonnie Shore. I started English for Global Business and created Business English for Work.
I have more than 30 years of business experience, including many years at Liberty Mutual. I also helped create and support online courses at the University of New Hampshire.
My business, teaching, and online learning experience helped me create a course for people who know some English but need help using it at work.

Why I Created English for Global Business
In business, I worked with people who knew their jobs well. But sometimes they did not know what to say or write in English.
I saw this when they needed to give an update, ask a question, explain a problem, or talk about what to do next.
That is why I created English for Global Business. Business English for Work helps people learn what to write in emails and what to say in meetings and presentations.
Three Areas of Experience
My business, teaching, and online learning experience helped me plan lessons for real work problems.
Business
I have more than 30 years of business experience. I have been a business owner and also worked for many years at Liberty Mutual.
My work included planning projects, business analysis, and database work. I also worked with quality assurance teams.
I often needed to explain ideas clearly. This experience gave me real examples to use in the course.
Teaching
I taught business and technology in high school and college. I also worked as a Technology Integration Specialist. In this job, I helped teachers use technology in their classes.
I learned that people learn in different ways. This helped me create lessons with clear steps, examples, images, and practice.
Online Learning
At the University of New Hampshire, I helped create and support online courses.
I used that experience to plan the lessons and activities in Business English for Work.
